Exhibitions and Collections Coordinator

The Norton Simon Museum is seeking a full-time Exhibitions and Collections Coordinator to oversee the installation of objects in the galleries, coordinate the preparators’ activities, and manage various projects related to conservation, exhibition, storage, packing and handling of the collections.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the installation of objects in the permanent collection galleries and temporary exhibitions
- Work with Museum team members to develop layouts and installation plans
- Purchase materials, tools, equipment and supplies
- Communicate with project-related consultants and vendors
- Process contracts, purchase orders, treatment proposals, condition reports, and treatment reports
Qualifications
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and organizational abilities
- Strong time management, writing and computer skills
- Communicate professionally and effectively with staff from all organizational levels
Physical Requirements
Able to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds.
Schedule
This non-exempt position is scheduled to work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Hiring Pay Scale: $55,000 - $65,000/yr
